Women & Girls

Golf Australia is committed to reshaping the golfing culture, shifting perceptions and enhancing diversity.

Golf is a game for life – for everyone and it is a collective obligation that we provide safe environments for women and girls to feel valued, empowered and a place where they belong.

Our mission is to have more Australians playing more golf – in all its forms. Golf Australia, in partnership with key stakeholders, will continue to focus on developing a Vision for Women and Girls in Golf and aligning a plan to the Australian Golf Strategy.

A guiding principle in our Australian Golf Strategy is that golf is inclusive, and anyone can partake in the game.

The three programs that currently support this mission are the R&A Women in Golf Charter, Australian Golf Foundation Junior Girls Scholarship Program and the Connecting Women in Golf initiative.

The R&A Women in Golf Charter

We are proud not only to have signed the R&A Women in Golf Charter but to have already achieved the following:

  • Greater gender diversity at Board level

  • Increased representation of women at senior management level

  • Increased focus on Women and Girls in Golf through a dedicated workforce that targets key initiatives that supports our targets

AGF Junior Girls Scholarship Program

We have an exciting opportunity through the Junior Girls Scholarship Program to correct the under-representation of girls and women in Australian Golf.

The AGF Junior Girls Scholarship is a club-based program designed to foster the development of girls aged 9 to 16 who have a passion for golf. Over the course of 24 weeks, participants will engage in lessons aimed at enhancing their skills and building lasting friendships to support their ongoing golfing journey.

Connecting Women in Golf

In the initial stage of Connecting Women in Golf, our goal is to create meaningful opportunities for women across all sectors of the golf industry to connect, collaborate, and grow. Whether you work at a club or facility, in manufacturing, coaching, turf management, or any other area of the golf workforce, this initiative is designed with you in mind.

Our events will feature keynote speakers, engaging panel discussions, and interactive Q&A sessions focused on a range of topics, both industry-specific and beyond, that matter to women working in golf.
