Victorian Government Announcement – August 2, 2020

Dear Victorian Golf Clubs and Facilities,

As you are aware, COVID-19 or the Coronavirus as it is more commonly known has created global health concerns regarding the disease and its infection rates.

Golf Australia is writing to provide further assistance and guidance to our clubs and facilities on this important topic.

Victorian Government Announcement – August 2, 2020

On Sunday, August 2, the Victorian Government announced that from 6:00 pm on Sunday the 2nd of August, Victoria will enter a State of Disaster.

Operations advice – Metropolitan Melbourne

Based on the statement made by the Premier of Victoria, Daniel Andrews:

  • All golf clubs and facilities in Metropolitan Melbourne must close from 6pm on Sunday, August 2 until further advised.

Golf Australia will provide further advice on the access of essential staff to clubs/facilities such as greenkeepers as soon as practicable following engagement with the Victorian Government.

Operations advice – Regional Victoria & Mitchell Shire

The Premier of Victoria has announced a move to Stage 3 restrictions in Regional Victoria from 11:59 pm on Wednesday, August 5.

The Premier of Victoria confirmed that Mitchell Shire will remain at Stage 3 restriction levels.

Golf Australia will provide further advice on the impact of these restrictions to clubs/facilities in Regional Victoria as soon as information is made available by the Victorian Government.
