Triumph for Emerald Lakes pair

Sarah Hammett and Kai Komulainen celebrate today on the Gold Coast.

Emerald Lakes pair Sarah Hammett and Kai Komulainen are the Greg Norman Junior Masters champions for 2021.

Hammett shot 71-67-71-72 for a three-under par total to win the girls gross title comfortably. It completed a fine year for the teenager who also won the South Australian Junior Amateur and the Katherine Kirk Classic.

Komulainen shot 70-72-71-69 for a two-under total to also win by a big margin and complete a year in which he has also won three state junior amateur titles – South Australia, Tasmania and Victoria.

The patron of Junior Golf Queensland, Charlie Earp, was in attendance to crown the champions and share his experience of coaching Greg Norman.

High performance coach Grant Field spoke about working with Cam Smith, a three-time winner of the GNJM.

And inaugural winner Karrie Webb sent a video message to the start of the week congratulating all players and wishing them well for the week ahead.
