Tasmanian Senior Amateur Commences

Australia’s best senior golfers will tee off today at the Mowbray Golf Club for the Men’s Tasmanian Senior Amateur Championship. Amongst the field of 52 competitors are 28 Tasmanians chasing the title in the three-day event. Key Tasmanian competitors include local member Michael Leedham, Prospect Vale’s Robbie Berne and Launceston Golf Club’s Shayne Walker. Other Tasmanians expected to perform well include Wynyard’s Craig Clark, Huon Valley’s Dennis Kelly and Royal Hobart Golf Club’s David Bliss. Interstate competitors to keep an eye on include defending champion Gordon Claney from Victoria, Lester Peterson from New South Wales and Queensland’s Brad Dowling.
