Ryan wheels it in at Tumby

Ryan Wheeler had a massive come from behind victory to beat out his Dad, Jim Wheeler, in the SA Men’s Sand Greens Championship.

After shooting an opening round 2-over par on Saturday, Ryan, from Kadina Golf Club, proved rock-solid firing a course record 6-under par 64 second round on Sunday to take the victory by three strokes. The win makes it Ryan’s second championship victory after first winning in 2013.

In the B Grade Championship, Paul Bammann from Cleve Golf Club won the Allen Hurst Trophy by one stroke ahead of Peter Moos with rounds of 78 and 80.

The event held at Tumby Bay Golf Club on the Eyre Peninsula, saw a full field of 102 players across A & B Divisions.
