Kai Komulainen (Surfers Paradise), Joshua Reid (Mackay) and Quinnton Croker (Royal Queensland) are this year’s winners from their respective age brackets at the Gary Player Classic at Pacific Golf Club in Brisbane.

For Komulainen, it was back-to-back victories in the 15 years and under age bracket. He went wire-to-wire and also carded the lowest round of the week, a 65 in windy conditions. He has previously won the Victorian, South Australian and Tasmanian Junior Amateur championships this year.

Reid held his nerve down the final nine holes to win over Justin McCormack who finished two shots back, making 48 pars for the week but finishing with a birdie on the 72nd hole to complete the win in the 16-17 years age bracket.

Meanwhile Croker rattled around in the best conditions of the week in the final round to shoot 66 and seal his win in the 18-20 years age group by three shots. Croker was the only player under par for the week, providing an insight into the challenging conditions.

All three players are eligible to return next year.
