In-form Andrew Martin has been partnered with top female pro Steph Kyriacou and 2018 NSW Open winner Jake McLeod for Thursday's opening round of the Isuzu Queensland Open. The trio will be off early at 7.10am (AEST) as one of the feature groups at Pelican Waters Golf Club when the storied tournament gets underway outside Caloundra.
Martin has been the buzz word in Australian golf since last Sunday's extraordinary effort of four eagles in his final round 61 to win The Players Series Sydney at Bonnie Doon.
Kyriacou revelled in her invitation to play at Bonnie Doon where she upstaged the men on opening day by leading with a superb eight-under-par 63.
The Brisbane-based McLeod is using the Isuzu Queensland Open-NSW Open fortnight to groove his game before a return to the European Tour.
Defending champion Anthony Quayle has been partnered with Australian women's amateur champion Grace Kim and Victorian Matt Griffin in the 7.20am group.
Defending a title will be a new experience for the Gold Coast-based Quayle who won in fine style in a play-off last year.
Kim is tuning up for her prized start in the Augusta National Women's Amateur starting on March 31.
At 11.40am, Dimi Papadatos will tee off with Travis Smyth and exciting left-handed rookie Elvis Smylie.
At high noon, 2018 Queensland Open champion Jordan Zunic will tee off with Sam Brazel and Australian men's Amateur champion Louis Dobbelaar.
