Three years after his tragic passing, Jarrod Lyle is to be inducted into the sports hall of fame in his hometown of Shepparton in central Victoria.

Lyle, who died in 2018 aged 36 after a long battle with leukemia, will be inducted this Friday.

The Greater Shepparton Sports Hall of Fame also is inducting AFL players such as Steele Sidebottom, Adem Yze, Steven King and Stephen Tingay as well as cricketer Raelee Thompson and a host of others at a gala presentation night.

Lyle grew up in Shepparton and played his early golf at the local golf club before playing on the Asian, Australasian and United States PGA Tours.

His legacy continues today with the annual #DoingItForJarrod fundraising campaign which is run by Challenge, the children's cancer network that Lyle was heavily involved in prior to his death.
