Podcast gets new sound
by Dane Heverin
Australian golf’s premier podcast will unveil two new co-hosts this week with former touring professional Mark Allen and sports broadcaster Tiffany Cherry ready to take listeners inside the ropes.
Allen is a prominent radio broadcaster who spent 14 years touring the world as a professional golfer, while Cherry’s extensive media career has included coverage of AFL, The Olympic Games, Australian Open tennis, golf and more - she was also an accomplished hurdler and triathlete.
The pair are long-time friends and have worked together previously at Melbourne radio stations SEN and 3AW.
They are thrilled to be rekindling their partnership to share their passion for golf.
“I’m really looking forward to covering Australian golf. I love talking about golf and the opportunity to do this for Australian golf is something that is dear to my heart,” Allen said.
“Golf’s been my whole life really. I really look forward to touching base with the entire Australian golf industry.”
Meanwhile, Cherry described herself as a “hack golfer” who fell in love with the game later in life.
“I took up the sport in my later years when I saw a lot of my colleagues getting exclusive sport stories on the golf course. So, I thought I may as well join them and take up the sport,” she said.
“I’ve had the opportunity to play in some incredible golf days and to play on some of the best courses around Australia and around the world.
“It’s a sport that my dad plays and he lives on a golf course so whenever I go and see him, that’s where we hang out.”
The show will include new segments such as ‘Marko’s Masterclass’ where listeners will receive tips to improve their own game and ‘Cherry Picked’ which will feature fascinating stories on up-and-coming golfers, celebrity golfers and more.
Plus, previous host Martin Blake will continue to provide updates on all the professional golf, amateur golf and industry news from Australia and around the globe.
