Penguin Wins Bronze Stableford

Penguin members Sandra Jenns and Janette Mossop took out this year’s Bronze Stableford conducted in Ulverstone Golf Club on Monday. The duo won by one point from the Scamander River Golf Club with a combined team stableford total of 70 points. Mossop was the best of the winning pair returning 39 points while Jenns chipped in with 31 points. Scamander River collected second place with Lesley Kellaway on 40 points and Mary Ann Ennis contributing with 29 points. Riverside Golf Club rounded out the top three teams with Deb Fox carding 35 points and Karen Hendry on 33 points. The individual title, excluding winning and runner-up teams, went to Orford Golf Club member Helen Fox who carded 38 stableford points. Devonport’s Kerry Clayton was second with 37 points, followed by Riverside’s Fox and Moorina’s Tania Thompson in third and fourth with 35 and 34 points respectively. Bridport’s Helen Davies and Riverside’s Hendry rounded out the top six individually, both tied on 33 points.
