Peirce, Slater win Tasmanian Open

South Australia’s Caitlin Peirce has shot a new Kingston Beach golf course record nine-under-par 62 to win the 2022 Women’s Tasmanian Open.
The Royal Adelaide member and current women’s Tasmanian amateur champion won the title by a massive eleven strokes, finishing 10-under for the tournament.
Tasmania Golf Club’s Mackenzie Wilson was the leading local after fighting her way into second place on one-over-par following a final round even-par 71.
Victoria’s Keeley Marx placed third just one stroke behind Wilson on two-over-par, with WA’s Sheridan Clancy and Queensland’s Yuuki Takada equal fourth on three-over.
Queensland’s Samuel Slater has won the 2022 Men’s Tasmanian Open following a final round of five-under-par 66.
At 15-under-par, the Brisbane Golf Club member won the crown by one stroke from Victoria’s Toby Walker from the Heidelberg Golf Club on 14-under.
Sam Howse, also from the Brisbane Golf Club, placed third on 11-under-par and was followed by fast finishing Phoenix Campbell on 10-under and James Mee eight-under.
Royal Hobart Golf Club’s Joey Bower was the leading male Tasmanian in sixth place on five-under-par.
