Orford victorious in Bronze Stableford

Orford Golf Club members Helen Fox and Fiona Smith took out this year’s Bronze Stableford conducted on Monday. The duo defeated St Helens Golf Club on a count-back when the two pairs finished the event with totals of 72 stableford points. Smith was the best of the winning pair tallying up 38 points at the North West Bay Golf Club while Fox chipped in with 34 points. For St Helens, Gonny Creemers and Dianne Chellew both returned 36 for their total of 72 points. New Town Bay collected third place with Melinda Beattie winning the best individual stableford of the day with 39 points and Maggie Aird contributing with 31 points. The Tea Tree and Greens Beach Golf Club’s rounded out the top five positions on the final leader board with 69 and 68 points respectively. Richmond Golf Club’s Heather McConnon was runner-up on the individual leader board with 38 points, followed by Tea Tree’s Margaret McKenzie in third on 36.
