The National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Golf Championships will be held at Darwin and Palmerston Golf Clubs this week.

The championships begin on Tuesday, with each day alternating between the two courses. The format is 72-hole stroke play with no cut, and is open to men and women of any age who are/identify as Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander.

The field will have their eyes on the top prize, a spot in the Australian Amateur, which will be held across Yarra-Yarra and Keysborough Golf Courses in January. Both the men's and women's champion this week will receive an invitation, upon approval from the Championship Committee.

Defending women's champion Skye Lampton, a member of Darwin Golf Club, will be feeling right at home. Lampton loved the experience at the Australian Amateur last year and is keen to get another shot.

The full format and schedule for the National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Golf Championship can be found here.
