Nakatani, Song lead Tasmanian Junior Masters

Queensland’s Haruhi Nakatani from the Surfers Paradise Golf Club has taken the lead following the first two rounds of the 2021 Tasmanian Junior Masters at Royal Hobart Golf Club. The 14-year-old plus four handicapper carded opening rounds of 66 and 71 to finish the day at nine-under-par 137. Nakatani leads local member and newly crowned girls’ Tasmanian amateur champion, Hallie Meaburn, by three strokes. Meaburn returned scores of 72 and 68 to hold steady at six-under and six shot clear of third placed Sarah Hammett of Queensland on even-par. The 16-year-old carded 68 and 70 to lead Queensland’s Kai Komulainen by two strokes heading into the final rounds tomorrow. Komulainen, the newly crowned boy’s amateur champion, returned scores of 70 and 70 for his four-under-par total of 140. Victoria’s Abel Eduard and Queensland’s Harry Takis are tied for third at even par and are followed closely by Queensland’s Manato Nakatani in fifth on one-over.
