Golf Australia is delighted to welcome Moreton Bay Regional Council as its event partner for the 2021 Queensland Inclusive Golf Championship.

The championship, to be played at the Redcliffe Golf Club on 4-5 March, is the first event of the year on the World Rankings for Golfers with a Disability schedule.

“It’s fantastic to have the support of the Moreton Bay Regional Council at this year’s championship and to showcase the region to the strong field that we are assembling for the event,” said Christian Hamilton, GA’s Senior Manager of Inclusion.

“New South Wales players Geoff Nicholas and Cameron Pollard, both of whom have played in the Australian All Abilities Championship, will challenge local talent for the title, while we’re also seeing more women and girls compete and join the rankings which has been another focal point of our work with Vision2025.”

Talented Queenslanders Kathryn Wilson and junior Natascha Tennent will join the stroke and nett rankings at the championship and will compete alongside Amanda Patterson, who also joins the stableford rankings this year.

Moreton Bay Region Mayor Peter Flannery said he looked forward to watching the participants tee off in Redcliffe next month.

“I’m thrilled the inclusive golf championship is taking place in the Moreton Bay region, as we work towards becoming the most accessible tourism and events destination in south-east Queensland,” Mayor Flannery said.

“With the majority of competitors and supporters visiting from outside the region, we’re expecting more than $110,000 to be pumped into the local economy over two days of golfing action.

“The Redcliffe Golf Club is a fantastic facility with a backdrop to rival the best golf courses in the country, which I hope attracts more accessible events like this in the future.” Click HERE for further information on the Moreton Bay Region.
