Meaburn wins Southern Country Girls' Championship

Royal Hobart junior Hallie Meaburn captured the Southern Country Golf Association girls’ championship last Tuesday at the Colebrook Golf Club.
The 17-year-old plus four handicapper carded a three-under-par course record round of 69 to secure the Golf Australia Tammy Hall Consistency Trophy event.
Meaburn won the title by a massive eleven strokes from Tasmania Golf Club’s Mackenzie Wilson.
Wilson, 17, who currently plays off a handicap on scratch, returned an eight-over-par round of 80 for her 18-holes.
While 15-year-old Launceston Golf Club junior, Jorjah Bailey who plays off four, placed third in the event, one stroke adrift of Wilson on nine-over-par 81.
Tasmania Golf Club junior Lachlan White won the corresponding boys’ event with a three-over-par round of 73.
White, 16, won the Golf Australia Athol Shephard Consistency Trophy event by three strokes from fellow club member Kyedon Grueber on six-over 76.
Royal Hobart Golf Club’s Hunter Gillard placed third on eight-over-par 78 and was followed closely by Riverside Golf Club’s Isaac Roberts on nine-over 79.
