Meaburn leads Tassie Open

Royal Hobart Golf Club’s Hallie Meaburn leads the field following the first day’s play in 2021 Women’s Tasmanian Open Golf Championship. Meaburn carded an opening round of one-under 70 at the Kingston Beach Golf Club to finish one stroke ahead of her nearest rivals Yerin Kim and Shyla Singh. Kim from the Strathfield Golf Club in New South Wales and Singh from the Southport Golf Club in Queensland are tied for second on even-par 71. While New South Wales’ Kelsey Bennett from the St Michael’s Golf Club and June Song from Avondale are tied for fourth place on two-over-par. The Glenelg Golf Club member holds a two-stroke lead over Launceston Golf Club’s Mitch Van Noord on four-under 67. New South Wales’ Joshua Fuller is in third place with a three-under 68 and is followed by Victoria’s Brody Harbinson in fourth on two under 69. Victoria’s Antony Maistorovic, Queensland’s Mitchell Revie and Ulverstone Golf Club’s Craig Walker round out the top five on one-under-par.
