Langford, Charnley triumph at Bright

Geoff Charnley and Judy Langford are the 2020 Alpine Senior Masters Champions.
The Rossdale member saluted for the first time whilst Langford claimed her third straight title at the event.
Tied for the lead after round one, Charnley remained steady throughout his second round, finishing with a 76 and a two-shot victory.
Charnley said he is always look forward to coming to bright each year.
“I love it here at Bright. It is one of my favourite events on the calendar. It is a great course and just a fantastic place to come visit,” he said.
The win has Charnley up to third in the Doug Bachli Order of Merit for this season.
Langford was just as complimentary of the facility, exclaiming how lucky it is to play here.
“I only live in Wodonga so it is easy for me to come play. It is such a great club and they are always very welcoming towards me,” she said.
Langford finished 12 shots clear of her nearest rival to race away with the victory.
Aileen Buckley claimed the runner-up trophy for the scratch event.
In the handicap divisions, Metropolitan’s Paul Bray was victorious on 149 on a countback from Alan Bullas.
Bray’s final round of 74 net proved to be the difference between the two.
In the women’s stableford event, Jen Le Cerf came from two shots back to claim victory by three shots.
Le Cerf, who plays her golf at Clifton Springs, was steady throughout her two rounds posting scores of 34 and 36.
Southern’s Dale Thompson finished runner-up with scores of 35 and 32.
The Bright Golf Club once again did a fantastic job with their many volunteers doing whatever was needed to help make this another fantastic event.
