Tasman Golf Club’s Richard Kube took out the A Grade section of the Southern Country Champion of Champions event at Llanherne Golf Club last Sunday. The 33-year-old former State team member carded an even-par round of 72 to defeat his nearest rival Trent Riseley from North West Bay in second with two-over 74. New Norfolk Golf Club’s Leigh Post placed third on the final leader board with a three-over-par round of 75. Matthew Cross followed closely in fourth place with a four-over round of 76, while Tom Burbury from the Oatlands Golf Cub rounded out the top five on five-over 77. The B Grade championship fell to North West Bay Golf Club’s Shane Gregg with an 11-over-par round of 83, six strokes in front of Bishac Polanowski of Richmond on 89. Pittwater’s Ryan Webb collected the C Grade prize with a round of 91, two strokes ahead of Colebrook’s Adrian Porter and six strokes clear of Elderslie’s Wayne Lamb and Tea Tree’s Andrew Henderson. Iron Pot Golf Club tasted success through Peter O’Keefe who picked up the senior division with a six-over-par 78, one stroke in front of Huon Valley’s Denis Kelly on 79.
