Katherine Kirk continued her great form at the LPGA Tour’s Ankansas Championship today but the hot scoring at Pinnacle Country Club left her fractionally off the pace.

Kirk, the 38-year-old Queenslander, followed her opening 65 with a 68 including four birdies. At nine-under par she is tied-seventh with a round to play of what is a three-round tournament in Rogers, Arkansas.

But she trails the leader, Sweden's Anna Norqvist, by seven shots with a day remaining.

Norqvist shot a brilliant second-round 62, nailing a three-metre birdie at the last for a nine-under round, and hitting all 18 greens in regulation.

The Swede leads by three shots from South Korea's Sei Young Kim who was one of a cluster of players to shoot 63.

Australia’s top-ranked player Minjee Lee shot a second-round 70 to be tied-55th after her top-three finish in the women's Open Championship in Scotland last week.

All the players are warming up in Arkansas for the second major of 2020, the ANA Inspiration at Rancho Mirage in California next week.
