Queensland’s Lewis Hoath and Victoria’s Kono Matsumoto powered to easy wins in the South Australian amateur championships today.

Hoath, a previous winner of the Greg Norman Junior Masters, the Queensland amateur and the Gary Player Classic, defeated Harry Bolton of Royal Canberra Golf Club 6 and 4 in the final, having dominated most of his matches along the way.

Bolton was the medallist from the strokeplay phase and as such, the top seed.

In the women’s final, there was a surprise with the dominant Doey Choi, from New South Wales, falling to Matsumoto, a previous winner of the SA title in 2014.

Matsumoto, a previous Australian junior champion and VIS scholarship holder, won the final 6 and 5 at the Vines Club of Reynella.
