Hickman shoots clear to overcome class field

Devonport Country Club’s Luke Hickman emerged from a quality field of competitors to secure the Tasmanian PGA Professionals Championship on Sunday. The 29-year-old won the title at the Claremont Golf Club with rounds of 68 and 65, a five-under-par total of 133. Port Sorell’s Alex Hamilton placed second on the final leader board with scores of 70 and 67, a one-under-par total of 137. Defending champion and Royal Hobart Golf Club Professional Matthew Docking placed equal third alongside Tasmania Golf Club’s Scott Priest. Docking and Priest returned rounds of 66 and 72, and 71 and 67 respectively for their even-par totals of 138. Launceston Golf Club’s Daniel Smith rounded out the top five for the event with two-over-par 140. To view the full scores from the event, please click HERE.
