Heathcote Golf Club
Heathcote is a Central Victorian township 105 kms north of Melbourne. The golf club was founded in 1928 and the course is famous for its fast, true-running, Peneagle bent-grass greens. It has forged a reputation with both amateur and professional players as one of the best golf courses in Central Victoria. The Heathcote district is highly regarded for its wineries and red wine production, particularly varieties of Shiraz, and the club boasts more winemakers per head than any golf club in Australia. The par-71 layout features couch fairways lined with established gum and pine trees. The course is fully watered and access to recycled water means it plays beautifully throughout the year. The course is also home to a variety of wildlife including kangaroos, emus, corellas and sulphur-crested cockatoos.
