Rodney Ware and Heather Harley are the ones to catch at the midway point of this year’s Cranbourne Senior Amateur.

Ware finished with a one-over par 73 which included back-to-back birdies on the 10th and 11th.

The round gives the Traralgon member a two-shot leader over regular winners on the senior tour, Kevin Naismith and Gordon Claney.

The three will be joined by Simon Dunstone in the final group after the Gungahlin Lakes Golf Club member finished with a first round score of 76.

In the men’s net, it is Ware who is again the one to catch.

His score of 70 net leads by two over Stuart Allen, Brett Westmoreland and Tony Gunn.

The women’s scratch stableford sees Kooringal’s Heather Harley take a three-shot lead over her fellow Kooringal member, Margaret Anderson.

The pair finished on 25 and 22 respectively.

Anderson and Harley also lead the women’s stableford with Anderson taking a slender two stroke advantage into tomorrow’s final round.

Players will gather in the morning for a shotgun start from 8am.
