Cam Davis is going back to the PGA Tour.

The Sydneysider, renowned for performing when the chips are down, did it again this morning, storming through the Korn Ferry Tour Championship field with a final-round 67.

Needing something special to make the final series top 25 after starting his final round in a share of 29th, the former Australian Open champ's chances hung in the balance when he was one over through six holes at the Victoria National Golf Club in Indiana.

But a brilliant birdie two on the seventh kick-started a charge that will result in the New South Welshman returning to the big dance in season 2020.

Davis birdied the ninth, 10th, 12th, 15th and 16th to rip through the field.

His -11 total was good enough for a share of 13th, but all importantly enough to settle at No.21 on the series standings.

But it wasn't all great news for Australia with results falling so that Perth's Curtis Luck, who missed the cut and fell from 15th to 29th overall.

Melbourne's Brett Coletta pushed hard throughout his final round, including a spectacular eagle on the par-five 10th, but his closing 71 only lifted him to T33 in the event and No.66 overall.

Davis had four top-25 finishes in his first year on the main tour, enough only to finishe No.160 on the FedEx Cup rankings.

But he will now play his second consecutive season on the PGA Tour, joining Cam Percy and Rhein Gibson as other Aussies to be promoted from the secondary tour.
