Karis Davidson and Breanna Gill will take a two shot lead into tomorrow's second and final round of the Drummond Golf Melbourne International at Latrobe Golf Club in Melbourne.

On a hot steamy Melbourne day where the mercury threatened the old 100 degree Fahrenheit mark, the morning groups set the pace with Coffs Harbour native Amelia Mehmet Grohn taking the early lead after a 2-under par round of 72.

The afternoon groups knew they were in for a baking hot afternoon and the scores comfortably matched the weather, with Davidson and Gill both shooting 4-under par rounds of 68. Lurking just two shots back at 2-under par is a group of seven players, including 2022 WPGA Championship runner-up Grace Kim, Englishwoman Charlotte Thomas, Korean Min A Yoon and Australia's leading amateur player Kirsten Rudgeley.

The first group out tomorrow will start their rounds at 9:30am, with the final threesome of Davidson, Gill and Grohn teeing off at 11:30am.

Entry is free and spectators are welcome provided thay can provide proof of vaccination for Covid-19 on entry.
