Australian Brett Coletta equalled his best career finish on the Korn Ferry Tour in America today, missing out on a playoff by a single shot.

Coletta’s closing 69 in the Club Car Championship at The Landings Club in Savannah, Georgia, left him tied-third at 16 under par after a birdie at the closing par-five 18th.

A bogey from the greenside bunker at the par-three 17th hole cost him a chance of reaching the playoff with Canada’s Adam Svensson and American Max McGreevy.

Ryan Ruffels fell away with a closing 76 to finish tied-55th after putting himself in contention earlier in the week.

The 24-year-old Coletta will jump more than 10 spots to 67th on the points list, with the top 25 receiving PGA Tour playing rights for next season.

Brett Drewitt is the only Australian inside that list of 25 so far. AARON Baddeley in a tie for 48th was the top Australian at the PGA Tour's Puntacana Championship today.

None of the three Australians in the World Golf Championship Dell Matchplay went past the round robin stage.

Billy Horschel beat Scotie Scheffler in an all-American final, 2 and 1.
