Bennett, Fuller hold aces at Tas Open

Kelsey Bennett and Joshua Fuller lead into the final round of the Tasmanian Open at Kingston Beach. Bennett, from the St Michael’s Golf Club in New South Wales extended her lead in the women's championship today. The 21-year-old carded a third round four-under 67 to finish the day at five-under-par and ten strokes in front of Belinda Ji and Yerin Kim, also from New South Wales. Ji and Kim returned 75 and 72 respectively to close the round at five-over and are one stroke ahead of fourth placed Hallie Meaburn of Royal Hobart on six-over-par. Newly crowned Tasmanian Junior Masters champion Haruhi Nakatani from Queensland rounds out the top five on seven-over-par. Fuller, the Vintage Golf Club member carded a two-under-par round of 69 today to hold a four-stroke lead over South Australia’s Jack Buchanan on six-under. Queensland’s Sam Howse surged through the field into third place with a four-under-par round of 67 today. As did Royal Hobart Golf Club’s Joey Bower who also carded a fine 67 at the Kingston Beach Golf Club. Victoria’s Toby Walker and Michael Song are tied at fifth place on two-under par.
