Avenel Golf Club is situated in a small north-eastern Victorian town of around 750 people, approximately 140m above sea level about 20km north of Seymour.
Located on a sandy loam site, it has an automatic watering system for green summer fairways and is renowned as the driest winter course in the district. The picturesque location is tree lined and green grass fairways are home to Koalas and native birds, it is also regarded as an easy walking course.
The Course has 18 black soil scrapes with fairly straight holes, no bunkers and good basic golf facilities.
