Aussies On Tour: January 20

Fans of Matt Kuchar and Lee Westwood might argue, but the third week of 2020 was unusually quiet.

From an Aussie perspective, both Scott Hend and Zach Murray finished in the top 25 on the European Tour with each playing four consistent rounds in Abu Dhabi.

And Cam Davis showed flashes of brilliance –  particularly early in The American Express –  in California to give his PGA Tour bank balance a healthy deposit.

But it’s young New South Welshman Travis Smyth who earnt #AussieOfTheWeek honours in Singapore.

Smyth, 13th a week earlier in Hong Kong, continued his good early-season form on the Asian Tour to finish in a share of 11th at the prestigious Singapore Open at Sentosa.

The Illawarra ace is in a rich vein of form having finished second in the NSW Open in November before shining in Mauritius to ensure he retained his Asian Tour card – a move that has already paid rich dividends.
