It was a quieter week around the world but the Aussie Summer of Golf kicked off with a bang in Sydney, thanks to a nail-biting playoff at the 2019 AV Jennings NSW Open.

Josh Younger and New South Welshman Travis Smyth were locked in a tense battle all day, Younger making double-bogey on the 72nd hole to fall back into a playoff.

But the Victorian was brilliant from that point on, making birdie on the second trip up the 18th to win his maiden professional title – and our #AussieOfTheWeek.

Elsewhere, Anthony Quayle was in the thick of things until late on Sunday afternoon on his way to a brilliant third-place finish on the Japan Tour, his best result for 2019.

And the return of the LET was profitable for Sarah Kemp (T10) and Whitney Hillier (T13) as the 2019 season winds down.
