The course at Ashbourne is located just out of town on the road to Strathalbyn and is hidden away from the private eye. The Ashbourne Private Links is on private land and has been under one family for nearly 100 years. Established in the late 1920s as a 9-hole grass green course Ashbourne now measures 2422m Par 33 OUT (2396m Par 33 IN) with four par 3s ranging from 131-175m, four par 4s ranging from 294-400m and the short 435m Par 5 7th/16th. Course has natural rye and common couch grass fairways which are quite lush. The 9 seaside bent grass greens are mostly 15m long and have some poa in them which can make the greens play a little slow. The teebeds consist of mostly rye grass with only 2 alternate tee mounds when playing 18 holes. The alternate tee mounds for the front and back nine are not far apart and does not change the par of the hole. There are no bunkers on the course.
