By anyone else's standards, Jamie Arnold has been on an epic rollercoaster in 2019.

But for a bloke who's done the hardest of yards through more than a dozen years on tours around the world, it was just another part of the ride to his ultimate destination.

The affable New South Welshman spoke with great honesty on Inside The Ropes this week, explaining both his most prolific season on the Korn Ferry Tour, in which he earnt a career-best $US132,692 - but also the series of late-season travails that cost him his dream card on the US PGA Tour.

"I've just taken it on the chin," said the Atlanta-based Sydneysider, who had a string of chances from July on to lock up his main tour card only to stumble at a couple of late hurdles.

"I had a lot of close calls in several tournaments ... but that's how it goes.

"Some weeks I birdied three of the last four and finished top 10, but other weeks you have a bogey here and there and you finish 30th. It's part and parcel of the job."

But Arnold, who has played around Australia, Asia and North America chasing his ultimate goal, is adamant that, at 36, his best golf is still ahead.

"I don't really see a ceiling to be honest ... whatever I set my sights to I can achieve," he told ITR.

"My goal is obviously to get on the PGA Tour and hopefully have 10 years out there and try to win multiple times out there and be in the mix in a few majors.

"I've got high goals, it's just a matter of putting the work in and keep progressing and getting better, and learning from the experiences.

"Those experiences (that hurt me this year) are going to help me win down the road."
