The Alpine Senior Masters is underway for another year as an almost full field took to the beautiful Bright Country Golf Club.

Judy Langford has set the pace in the women’s scratch stableford event after her score of 31 points leads by five strokes.

The Wodonga member is looking for her third straight victory at the event after missing out on a countback in 2017.

Numurkah’s Julie Daniel will lead the challengers after a score of 26 has her in outright second.

Jen Le Cerf rounds out the top three on 22 points.

In the women’s stableford, Daniel and Langford are joined by another Numurkah member in Jeanette Adams at the top of the leaderboard.

The trio finished with 36 stableford points.

The men’s event sees a crowded leaderboard with four players tied after round 1.

The final group tomorrow will see Geoff Charnley, Brian Harris, Ian McCleary and Alan Bullas battle it out after they all finished with 75.

In the men’s net, Barry Miles has continued his fantastic form with a magnificent 68 net.

Miles will take some catching as he leads by five from Alan Bullas.

Play will begin tomorrow from 9am.
