April is MyGolf Girls month
by Golf Australia
MyGolf Girls Month is back this April to promote girls participation within golf and to raise awareness so others can catch the golfing bug via the MyGolf Girls program.
The initiative made its successful debut last April and it is back to drive the promotion, recruitment, and retention of female participants once again. The MyGolf Girls program greatly assists those objectives by offering a comfortable introduction to the game for girls.
In a survey of MyGolf Girls participants, 70% said they would prefer to play and learn with other girls. Additionally, common feedback from girls suggests that some girls can feel out of place when they are the only girl, and that a mixed sex environment can become too competitive.
With this in mind, My Golf Girls Month aims to offer young golfers more girls-only programs Australia-wide for this term and going forwards.
How can facilities get involved and how will Golf Australia help facilities?
All MyGolf facilities will be reimbursed $20 for every participant that registers for a MyGolf Girls program between April 1 and April 30. The reimbursement will be provided directly into the MyGolf facility’s account. This benefit is available for every MyGolf Girls program per facility, with no limit on the amount of maximum participants until funds are exhausted.
There will also be prizes up for grabs for clubs and facilities and a supportive social media campaign will promote MyGolf Girls programs to local areas, running from 1 April – 30 April through Facebook and Instagram targeting parents. To be involved simply upload a MyGolf Girls program.
Find further tips on promoting your program and retention opportunities in the MyGolf Girls Guide or simply contact mygolf@golf.org.au for further support or assistance with setting up a program. We are eager to support you however we can.
