Wanaaring is a village in NW NSW, literally ""out the back of Bourke"". It is 180km west of Bourke and just under a thousand km from Sydney, on the Paroo River. Immediate population is about 50 people. Fuel, meals and pub accommodation at The Outback Inn are available. Summer temperatures are usually up in the high 30s. An annual rodeo is held in Wanaaring in support of the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Wanaaring Golf Club has a 9 hole course with a par of 72 and length of 5656 metres. ""There is no grass"".
