Overnight men's leader John Lyras and Ladies European Tour player Whitney Hillier were the standout performers on a cool and blustery Friday morning at 13th Beach.

Lyras picked up where he left off yesterday with a six-under par round of 66 on the Beach Course to take him to 14-under for the tournament.

The Sydneysider carded seven birdies and said that he's never played better back-to-back rounds of golf.

He is three shots clear of second place Dimitrios Papadatos, while Cameron John is a further shot back in third.

Hillier ripped up the Creek Course with a five-under par round of 67 to enter the clubhouse with the lead at ten-under.

The highlight of the West Australian's round was an eagle on the par-5 second where she hit driver then a 3-wood to set up a nine foot putt.

She also had four birdies to set an imposing target for the afternoon field including Hannah Green to chase.
