Vic Four-Ball State Final reaches halfway point

Round 1 of the 2018 Victorian Four-Ball Championship State Final took place today in blustery conditions at Sorrento Golf Club.

The Women’s and Mixed fields were out first thing this morning, both teeing off at 7:45am. Leading the charge in the women’s field were Eils Tickell & Jane Rawlinson. The pair from Peninsula-Kingswood and Victoria posted 45 stableford points to take the overnight lead by 4 points from Bairnsdale’s Julie Lambert & Marg McCallum.on 41 points.

The top of the leaderboard in the mixed field sees Sophie Thomson & Anthony Tarrant of Latrobe sharing the lead on 44 points with Pakenham’s John Hoare and Tina Cowie from Tambo Valley.

Leigh Graham and Todd Matthews have shot out of the gates in the men’s field this afternoon. The Axedale pair carded an impressive 50 points to be leading by 2 shots from Northern’s Dean Anderson and Blake Anderson.

Players will move across to the Ocean Course at The National Golf Club tomorrow for the final round. The men’s field will tee off at 7:45am with the women’s & mixed taking the afternoon time slot at 1:00pm.
