Sydney’s Jenny Lee has stormed into the second phase of the LPGA Qualifying School.

Lee, hot on the heels of her first professional victory, was one of three Aussies to advance from Mission Hills Country Club in California.

But Lee was easily the most impressive, carding rounds of 66-71-69-70 to finish runner-up to hot Swedish prospect Linnea Strom.

Lee, 21, a key member of Australia's Astor Trophy-winning team in 2015 when she was living in Adelaide, recently won her first professional event in a playoff on the mini National Women's Golf Association tour in the United States.

She advances to the second phase at Plantation Golf and Country Club, in Venice, Florida, from 16-22 October in a field that will be finalised after the Symetra Tour Championship.

Lee will be joined by Victorian Grace Lennon who was clutch in the final round, carding a two-under-par 70 to advance in a share of 70th place at two over.

Also through is young Sydneysider Celina Yuan, who battled with a closing 75, but still made the grade on the number with a three-over total to finish in an 11-way tie for 79th with only the top 90 progressing.

Agonisingly outside the cut were Nadine White and Ali Orchard, while Kristalle Blum, Wanasa Zhou, Jade Shellback and Paige Stubbs each were eliminated after three rounds and Elizabeth Elmassian withdrew after the opening round.
