Jarrod Lyle

Jarrod Lyle’s emotional decision to start palliative care this week has sparked a widespread outpouring of emotion.

His family – along with media outlets and all corners of the golf industry – have been overwhelmed by well-wishers with offers of assistance.

Challenge, the cancer charity with which Lyle has become synonymous during his three battles with leukemia, will continue to support Jarrod and his family in any way possible.

Challenge CEO Dave Rogers said the family has requested that any support be made in the following ways.

He said anyone wanting to show support through purchasing Leuk The Duck merchandise should visit

Alternatively, for those wishing to donate specifically to support Jarrod’s daughters, Lusi and Jemma, donations can be made directly to the family’s Trust Fund:

Name: Lyle Family Childrens' Trust

BSB: 013 017

Account: 4174 08765

“Just as the rest of the community Jarrod has touched, we all just want his family to receive the support they’re going to need in the short and long term,” Rogers said.

“We are all grateful for the generosity of spirit that’s being shown towards Jarrod and his family at this tough time.”

Speaking on behalf of the golf community, Golf Australia chief executive Stephen Pitt said the week’s emotions had demonstrated the respect with which Lyle is held by all corners of society.

“We know he’s been a champion bloke as well as a golfer, but to hear how he’s touched so many people around the world since Briony’s note on Tuesday night has been incredible,” Pitt said.

“So that we can make sure that the most possible help is directed towards their young daughters, now and in the future, we think it’s wise to have these points publicly known and there is no better place than Challenge with its established network and professional staff – especially when it’s a place that means so much to Jarrod.”
