Golf Month turns pink at Gove

NT Golf Month Pink Day

Another year, another Pink Ambrose Classic at Gove Country Golf Club in sunny Northern Territory.

More than 60 women attended the annual Golf Month event to raise money for the McGrath Foundation.

The day was filled with everything pink and golf, including the elusive ‘Pink Jacket’ for the winner.

Many gave golf a go for the first time including the winning team of the ambrose event, who won on both nett score as well as achieving the lowest gross score.

Amazed by their win, three women in the team are parents of junior golfers at Gove Country Golf Club whilst the fourth team member has had a fascinating introduction to golf originating on Groote Eylandt, a remote island off the north-east shore of the Northern Territory.

Excitement on the day was extremely contagious with many in attendance now hooked on the game.

Laughs, smiles, and memories were made as most in attendance had never tried golf before.

A number of prizes were handed out on the day, thanks to the generous contributions of 23 local businesses and individual sponsors.

The event was a huge success owing to the team effort from the ladies sub-committee and bar manager.
