Australia has stumbled to finish 10th at the Queen Sirikit Cup.

With Hannah Green (77), Becky Kay (80) and Liz Elmassian (81) uncustomarily battling in windy conditions on the Hong Kong Golf Club’s New Course, the team suffered its worst collective round of the tournament.

With the best two daily scores counting towards the Asia Pacific team title, Australia’s three-round total of 448 left it 26 strokes adrift of winner Korea with Philippines runner-up and New Zealand third.

Green finished tied eighth in the individual event at five over par, with Elmassian tied 25th on 12 over and Kay tied 31st on 14 over.

Australian coach Tony Meyer said the women “just couldn’t find any momentum” as the team fell from fifth overnight.

“All the girls had bad starts and just couldn’t really get it back on track after that,” he said.

“It was just a disappointing finish to a good week.

“But I’m certain that Becky and Liz would have taken plenty from the week and learnt a lot given they haven’t played in conditions like this before.”

Korea’s domination of the event continued with its eighth win in nine years with Australia’s win in Chinese Taipei in 2013 the only exception since 2007.

With Hyun Kyung Park (-7), Eun Soon Jang (-3) and Joung Eun Lee (E) finishing first, second and tied fourth respectively in the individual event, the powerhouse Korean team finished 14 strokes clear of its nearest rival.
