Each year, a Golf Australia Senior Team contests a match against the Australian Defence Forces team. The event is played over two days, with foursomes and four-ball matches on day one, and singles matches on day two. The event was first played in 2007.
The 2017 ADF Team will be selected following the 2017 Royal Melbourne Senior Classic from 16-18 January.

The Golf Australia Senior Team to play the annual match against the Australian Defence Forces at The National Golf Club in Victoria has been announced.
The team members are Mike Peeck (Captain – Qld), Mark Abeyaratne (Vic), Adrian Barr (Vic), Simon Bracegirdle (Vic), Allan Bullas (Vic), Tim Deakin (Qld), Mark Gatty (WA), Tom Harold (NT), John Kelly (Vic), Jacqui Morgan (NSW), Helen Pascoe (Vic) and Bill Wellington (TAS).
The event takes place on 26-28 March, and the team is a mix of newcomers and experienced players. 2017 is the second year where women have formed part of the GA team.
This year sees the 11th playing of the event and previous occasions the matches have been played in the very best spirit while also being very keenly fought.
The social side has also been a great success and lasting friendships have been made between older golfers and the younger golfers who also serve in the defence of our country.
The 12-person Golf Australia Team contests Four-Ball, Foursomes and Singles match play in a Ryder Cup style against the12-person ADF Team.
