Fraser hungry for more in Perth

A week ago, Marcus Fraser would not have declared himself as one of the big Australian hopes for the ISPS Handa Perth International.

Fraser was so confident he wild miss the cut at the Maybank Championship, he was spent last Tuesday evening seaching for Friday night flights from Malaysia to Melbourne.

Then after a self-described “quick turnaround”, Fraser found himself winning his third European Tour title just days later.

“I wasn’t expecting it, but I’m very thankful that it happened,” said Fraser to Perth's media that assembled at Lake Karrinyup Country Club.

“It’s a bizarre game. I thought I had no chance of being there at the weekend, but after practice on Wednesday I could see a few signs that I was starting to progress in the right way, and then on the Thursday I came out and played great.”

With that result Fraser vaulted his world ranking to 62, and he’s declared his intention to go back to back and become the first Australian to win the Perth International.

“I’m hungrier this week to go out and play well,” said Fraser.

“That was my third European Tour victory but I want to make it four as quick as I can. It’s got the juices going for sure and I’m as keen as ever to play this week and I can’t wait for the tournament to start.”
