Tickets are now on sale for the summer’s best golf action at the Emirates Australian Open at Royal Sydney Golf Club from 28 November-1 December.
Heading this year’s field is World Number 2 and US Masters champion Adam Scott who won his tenth career PGA Tour title at The Barclays Championship last Sunday.
Scott will go head to head with Northern Ireland’s two-time Major champion and World Number 4 Rory McIlroy in the battle for the Stonehaven Cup.
With more big names expected to be confirmed in the weeks to come, the championship is shaping up as the most exciting of the summer.
Golf Australia CEO Stephen Pitt encouraged fans to book early and seize the opportunity to watch two of the world’s top 4 players take on the rest of the field on the Rose Bay layout.
“The Emirates Australian Open is a terrific chance for fans to watch the world’s best players take on the challenge at one of Australia’s finest golf clubs at Royal Sydney,” Pitt said.
“The Open is the most coveted title of the Australian summer and it’s fitting that Adam and Rory will be among those contesting a title won by the likes of Gary Player, Jack Nicklaus, Greg Norman, and Arnold Palmer.
NSW Minister for Tourism and Major Events, George Souris, urged golf fans to grab the opportunity to see some of the world’s top golfers in action.
“The 2013 Emirates Australian Open will bring some of the world’s best golfers to the fairways of Royal Sydney Golf Club and I encourage all golf fans to make the trip to Sydney,” he said.
The Emirates Australian Open will be broadcast live on the Seven Network across all four days and is sanctioned by the PGA Tour of Australasia and OneAsia.
The Championship is owned by Golf Australia and is managed by World Sport Group in conjunction with the PGA of Australia, with the assistance of TRP Sports.
