Queensland boys win Interstate Teams Matches

The Queensland boys have clinched a narrow victory the Australian Boys’ Interstate Teams at Bunbury Golf Club in Western Australia.

It’s Queensland’s first victory in the championship since 2006 and completes the double with the Queensland girls winning the Burtta Cheney Cup at the Australian Girls’ Interstate Teams Matches earlier in the week.

The Queensland boys defeated Victoria 3-2 to win the title by half a contest despite Victoria having won more matches.
Queensland’s Jack Hulyer (Coolangatta Tweed) and Victorian Brett Coletta (Sandhurst) finished the tournament undefeated.

New South Wales finished tied in third place with South Australia, level on 4.5 contests and 22 matches each.

Host state Western Australia finished in fifth place while Tasmania, the Australian Capital Territory and Northern Territory round out the places on the leaderboard.
