Nicklaus confirms The Australian will host 2014 Open

Golf Australia has confirmed the Emirates Australian Open will be hosted by The Australian Golf Club in 2014.

18-time Major winner and six-time Australian Open champion Jack Nicklaus was at The Australian Golf Club in Sydney to unveil his completed re-design for the layout

“There aren’t many honorary members who have been so for half a day who get to make these sort of announcements but I’m proud of it,” Nicklaus said.

Nicklaus, announced the return to the course where he won three of his six Australian Opens.

The Australian last hosted the Open in 2007 when Craig Parry won by a stroke which was revenge for his loss at the same venue to little-known American John Morse in 1990.

The Emirates Australian Open will again be sanctioned by the PGA Tour of Australasia and OneAsia.

I have played the AustralanGolf Course a number of times so it will be interesting to see the new layout.

Wouldnt it be great if we could see the greatest golfer ever play on his redesign in 2014!!!!
