Ian Boughey from Wantima Golf Club in Queensland is the lucky winner of Golf Australia’s Australian Amateur Championship Competition.

Over 140 entries were received in the competition “Tell us why you would like to play at Commonwealth Golf Club and experience the atmosphere of the Australian Amateur Championship”.

Entries were received from all over Australia with some extremely heartfelt responses.

Ian and his wife Kay will be flown to Melbourne on Saturday 19 January and will play 18-holes at the host venue, Commonwealth Golf Club, before heading out to watch the final 18-holes of the 2013 Australian Amateur Championship Final.

Thank you to all of those who entered, and we hope you one day get the chance to play at Commonwealth Golf Club, but in the meantime we look forward to you following the progress of the Australian Amateur competitors.
