Australia's number one ranked senior, Stefan Albinski.
Golf Australia has announced the Australian Team to contest the 2012 Asia-Pacific Senior Amateur Championship to be played at Discovery Bay Golf Club in Hong Kong from 28-30 November.
The six-man team to contest the event in 2012 is Stefan Albinski (NSW), Graham Blizard (NSW), Denis Dale (NSW), Richard Greville (NSW), Peter King (Qld) and Roy Vandersluis (NSW).
Albinski is Australia’s number one ranked senior golfer, while King sits in the number two position, having won the NSW and Qld Senior Amateurs, and recently finished runner up in the Australian Senior Amateur. Blizard also finished runner up in the Australian Senior Amateur, and with another four Senior Ranking Event titles to his name this year, he is one of the form golfers.
Dale has been a consistent performer over many years, and was recently victorious in the SA Senior Amateur, while Vandersluis has also had a consistent season with four top 10 finishes. Greville has also shown consistent form, with five top 10 finishes in the last 12 months.
The Asia-Pacific Senior Amateur Championship is played over 54-holes stroke play, and comprises an individual event with the team event in conjunction. Australia’s Peter King is the defending champion, having claimed the title at Royal Perth Golf Club last year, while Australia goes into the event defending the team title.
In each round, the total of the four lowest scores constitutes the team score for the round. The three-day (54-hole) total is the team’s score for the championship.
The event is organised by the Asia-Pacific Golf Confederation.
