Scott grouped with Garcia, Mahan at PGA Championships

Adam Scott

Adam Scott has been grouped with Sergio Garcia and Hunter Mahan in a marquee PGA Championship grouping for Round 1 and 2.

Scott has admitted he is struggling to cope with a return to action this week at the World Golf Championships following his collapse at The Open last month.

"I tried to be business as usual," Scott said.

"But a few times I felt like it was too quick to get back into it after a major week.

"To spend the whole week in the mix in England, and then have a type of finish where I spent a few days thinking about it . . . and then having to deal with speaking to everyone in general about it here.

"It was hard for me to switch my mind back on it at times out there.

"But in saying that, it was probably important to get right back into it and maybe it took me today to realise: 'OK, you've got to switch the mind back on and not just float through this week."

The 2012 PGA Championship will be played August 9-12 at the Ocean Course of the Kiawah Island Golf Resort in Kiawah Island, South Carolina, southwest of Charleston. It will be the 94th edition of the PGA Championship.

Peter Thomson died today. 88 is a great innings to reference another sport he loved. Bradman, he once said, ‘was a God when I was growing up.’ Read more
